Amandeep Singh Chopra was Group President and Head of Fixed Income at UTI AMC, overseeing assets to the tune of Rs. 9Trillion (~US$ 120Bn). He has been with UTI AMC since 1994 beginning his career as a ‘Research Analyst’ and then moving into the area of Fund Management. He has been responsible for new product development, fund launches and increasing fixed income fund assets of the AMC. As a member of the senior management, he was involved in the initiative to bring in a strategic partner into UTI AMC and the subsequent integration. He served on the Executive Investment Committee (EIC), Valuation Committee, Managing Committee and Fixed Income Steering Committee of UTI AMC. He has been a member of the Valuation Committee of the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) and formerly on the SEBI Advisory Committee on Bonds and Securitization (CoBoSAC). He has also been a member of Working Group on mutual fund matters under SEBI. He has won awards from CNBC-TV18 CRISIL, NDTV-ICRA ONLINE, Morningstar and LIPPER for several of his funds each year. UTI MF was judged the “BEST DEBT FUND HOUSE” of the year in 2008 (NDTV PROFIT & OUTLOOK MONEY), "STAR FUND HOUSE OF THE YEAR-DEBT” in 2012 (ICRA online Ltd), "BEST DEBT FUND HOUSE Runners Up" for 2012 and "BEST DEBT FUND HOUSE" for 2014 and 2015 by Outlook Money. Morningstar awarded "BEST FUND HOUSE:DEBT" in 2016, 2017 and 2019. Amandeep was judged the "Best Debt Fund Manager 2010" by the Business Standard-NDTV Profit and awarded the trophy by the Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Manmohan Singh. He was again awarded the Outlook Money "Best Debt Fund Manager" in 2013 by former finance minister - Yashwant Sinha. Amandeep has also been ranked as Highly Commended Investor in the Asian Local Currency Bonds 2014 by The Asset Benchmark Research Awards. He is a frequent speaker at Investment Forums and symposiums and makes regular appearances in media to discuss investment ideas and financial markets. Amandeep is a graduate in B.Sc. (Computer Science) from St. Stephens College, Delhi and an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi.
