SBI Mutual Fund (SBIMF) India's and largest mutual fund in India in terms of assets managed.
SBI Mutual Fund was established on 29th June 1987 as a Trust sponsored by the State Bank of India, registered with SEBI on 23rd December 1993. Later, it became a joint venture with AMUNDI Asset Management (a French AMC), with SBI holding a 63% stake and AMUNDI holding 37%.
In 2013, SBI Mutual Fund also acquired Daiwa Mutual Fund, with a corpus of ₹266 crores.
Currently, Mr Shamsher Singh is the Managing Director & CEO of SBIMF. R Srinivasan is the CIO (Chief Investment Officer) on the equity side of SBI Mutual Fund and manages one of the largest small cap mutual fund schemes: SBI Small Cap Fund (₹20,000+ crore)
SBI Mutual Fund had IPO (Initial Public Listing) plans in 2022, but they were later shelved.
SBI Mutual Fund offers three of the largest mutual fund schemes in India: SBI Liquid Fund (AUM: ₹65,000+ crore), SBI Equity Hybrid Fund (AUM: ₹~60,000 crore) and SBI Bluechip Fund (₹35,000+ crore).
