LIC Mutual Fund was established on April 20, 1994 as a Trust sponsored by Life Insurance Corporation of India. It was in April 1994 whenLIC Mutual Fund Asset Management Limited, got a green signal from SEBI to commence its mutual fund business and operations as LIC Mutual Fund.
LIC of India holds the majority stake (45%) in LIC Mutual Fund Asset Management. Other significant shareholders include LIC Housing Finance (39.30%), GIC Housing Finance (11.70%), and Union Bank of India (4%).
Currently, Mr. Ravi Kumar Jha is the Managing Director & CEO of LIC Mutual Fund. Mr. Marzban Irani is the CIO (Chief Investment Officer) of LIC Mutual Fund.
